I was just putting a post on Craigslist and I am presented with this CAPTCHA which I really can’t see in any letters in. I wonder what the deal is?

It looks like an eye. Maybe you were supposed to enter “aneye”.

The right word is “filed”, I ended up clicking “hear verification word”. I’m definately relieved that someone else can’t see the word either.

It looks like ‘lol’, which is quite appropriate, but not long enough.

I got this one awhile ago… and there was no helpful voice pronounciation. I just curled up and cried.

I’m definitely not color-blind, there is no word there. Their font rendering must have broken.

It reminds me of the logo o for the Brazilian televison network, Rede Bandeirantes. Maybe it’s some kind of conspiracy.

Brian,
Yours does look even worse. These things are generated programmatically so there’s always a possibility there could be a bug in the program. Or maybe it’s a polite way of telling people their server is overloaded
When I read the update to your post, I was expecting it to say, “we debated having email invitations only to our site, but we decided to go with a broken CAPTCHA instead. Make people think we’re accepting everyone, but really accepting no one”
