Grocist Update: We Now Have Search for Every Item, Folks!
-
Today I added search links to Grocist (My free barcode-driven grocery list application).
You can now search for any and every product on your grocery list on key shopping sites just by clicking the links.
Below is a snippet from my list that you can interact with. Try clicking some of the shop links and see how it works. As you can see, you can search by description or by barcode.
I’m particularly excited about this update because clicking on the Vivarin UPC link found me some prices in the 4 dollar range while I paid $7.99 last time I went to Weis! A few more finds like that and I can pay for my barcode scanner.

I’m found a message you left in a forum related to Amazon.com’s new grocery offerings.
You can use Groceries-Express.com to seach by 10-digit upc for items. To integrate with your app would take a little more work.

Thanks, Kraig. I’m looking into it now. It sounds very promising.

[…] Neat, huh? As you can see in the screenshot, it also has the handy search links, so if you’re say bored, reading your RSS feeds, you can go ahead and search the internet for better prices on say, Dial Soap. Of course some grocery items make a better fit for potentially buying on the internet. Perhaps something like Brita filters would be cheaper on the internet?
